		<description><![CDATA[BPA(bisphenol A) is an industrial chemical used to make polycarbonate plastic resins, epoxy resins, and other products. It is a synthetic estrogen linked to breast cancer and other serious health problems. When used in containers, it leaches into the food and liquids in those containers, ending up in our bodies. Product Stewardship for Oregon Mercury Lighting (SB 529) helps Oregonians take better care of the enviroment.  Fluorescent lights save energy, save money and help reduce climate change, but improper disposal can harm the environment and human health. All fluorescent lights contain mercury, a heavy metal that harms the brain, liver and kidneys and causes developmental disorders in children.
